[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A species of millipede (Class: Diplopoda) from the dry forests of Kalakad-Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, south India. This species is apparently adundant throughout the year, but is said to be super abundant in the rainy season. Considering its obvious abundance, it could be an extremely significant link in the food chain of these forests.

Millepedes have a widespread global distribution. They are particularly interesting in their anti-predatory behaviour - which includes merely rolling into a motionless ball or exuding poison when threatened - since they would otherwise make easy meals (relatively sendentary and easily detectable).

Hi Ravi

Nice snap! Great sharpness and detail, although I wish the foreground wasn't blurred. Just my personal opinion though. Very nice composition. :)
