[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The three striped palm squirrel (Funambulus Palmarum) is one of the commonest rodents (or commonly seen) in peninsular India. It is a human commensal and seems to thrive in human habitation. While it is not unusual for particular species to adapt to human habitation, I often wonder why, even among closely related species, with similar habitat/food requirements, there is difference in abundance in human habitation. Even among these squirrels, there are some very closely related jungle specialists, which are never found in human habitation. Looking into the future, as more and more, of the earth's habitat is homogenised into human converted landscapes, will the earth's biodiversity be reduced to these few species that survive well among humans?

Nice shot Ravi, good POV, colours and sharpness are spot on, all the best Rick....

Hello Ravi,
Those cute squirrels are everywhere in different variations!
This is a fine fellow with a long but not so bushy tail, giving you a fine pose as he is enjoying his meal...
Good details and fine colours, well composed presentation!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hallo Ravi
It is the first time I have heard of this kind of squirrel. A lovely close up packed with a diversity of characteristics and details. I just love the big black eye with a glint. The tiny ears and claws, the biggish nose and most spectacular the thick and long tail. The different stripes of colours on its fur are quite spectacular. I cannot see long whiskers like with some of the other squirrels. I like the pose with you have managed to photograph it. It seems like he has a ball of a time with all the food having plenty to eat. A well presented and special photo. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Ravi,
