Details about the species

Wingspan is 50-70mm. The male is smaller than the female and is more variable in size. Both sexes have a black spot at the distal end of the forewing cell though this spot is sometimes absent in the male.

In both sexes, the ground color of the underside of the wings is greenish. Except for a small area on the lower half of the forewing, which is unmarked, the remaining areas are marked with very fine reddish-brown lines.

It occurs all over from sea level to about 2000 feet elevation. It is often seen at much higher elevations during migrations. It is very seasonal and appears in large numbers during the pre-monsoons periods.
its flight is quite slow, straight and less bouncy. It is not a species of the high canopy and is most frequently seen flying just above weedy vegetation or low bushes, stopping now and again to nectar on the flowers of small shrubs and herbs. During the hot weather, the males mud-sip, often in the company of other white butterflies.

Good POV to show this very worn and tatty Mottled Emigrant in the bes way. Sharp and nicely composed on the white lantana flower against a pleasing blurred green BG.

Another beautiful butterfly albeit a bit worn and tattered.The focus and details are sharp.The lighting is very good and you have captured it on a lovely flower.The shot is well composed with good illumination.The POV is really good,and we almost get an overhead ,zoom of the interior of the flower.Nicely done.TFS

I should find the automated button for this contraption called a computer. Perhaps a micro script to generate each days feelings of your continue large work on the species. But then I would not have the time to sit and reach each and every word as I do...and see the quasi reasoning for it's existence, for surely you have found your reason here in photography.

a lovely composition with an unusual but very interesting and pleasing angle. Great detail and wonderful colors...the whites and yellows in particular are good. Sharpness if great...we can see the veins in the butterfly's wings!

This is a very good close-up of a butterfly on a white Lantana flower. I like your composition and the way you placed the flower and butterfly, each on one side of the diagonal. It's a shame the wings of the butterfly are damaged. The colors look natural and well saturated. Contrast is very good and exposure well handled to preserve the details in both highlights and shadows. Great use of DOF to convey perspective! Thank you!
