[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Shield bug and stink bug (or shieldbug and stinkbug) are common names applied to various insects of the Hemiptera order (the "true bugs"), in the Heteroptera suborder.

Shield bugs have glands in their thorax between the first and second pair of legs which produce a foul smelling liquid. This liquid is used defensively to deter potential predators and is sometimes released when the bugs are handled carelessly

Cropping, resizing and framing done.

Hello Pankaj,
Good exposure and focus!
very sharp with details and also the colour of the flower is beautiful
well composed and well seen
cheers
Tony

Hi Pankaj,
This is a shield bug or a stink bug for sure. Nice details on the tail end but the details are missing in the head area was it windy or I think the bug moved a bit while capturing. But the composition is very nice. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Pankaj,
Nice shot with texture on the back and transparent wings clearly seen. Colors and exposure are great. Never see this species before. TFS,
JC

hello
parfaite nettetté sur l'insecte, la mise au point a été bien faite sur lui, et bravo pour ce flou de la fleur, bonne réussite, bravo et merci a toi
edith

Hi Pankaj
I must say that it is not perfect shot. I like colors, nice OOF buckground and frame. But sharpness is rely bad here and it is spoilning whole image
Best wishes
Krzysztof

Hi Pankaj,
a lovely shot of this Shield Bug on a beautiful Marigold.
Vivid colours.
Great detail.
Well done,
Joe

Hello Pankaj,
This is almost exactly like a bug we have in New Zealand called Schellenbergs Soldier Bug.
It is not a pest to plants like the Green Shield bug,but is a useful predator here because it is carnivorous and preys on many insect pests such as the destructive Eucalyptus Tortoise Beetle.
You can see my photo and note about it Here

Hello Pankaj
Excellent shot of this Shieldbug,
Perfect details,composition and lighting,
Welldone.

Good Luck
Fartash

An interesting combination of a beautiful flower and not so so pretty insect. I wonder if it is a frog-like waiting for a kiss. No me.

Done in the Pankaj method and framed as same. Done well sir.
Bob

I think our Polish friend Krzysztof is being a bit harsh in his critique of your bug image, Pankaj.
The focus may be a tad soft on the head. However, the entire image is quite impressive. The light in particular is just right to give the subject pretty good amount of sheen and shine.
I like it very much.
Thanks for sharing and take care.

Good one, Pankaj! Great detail and very beautiful on the red! Well done! Cheers, Klaus

The details are well exposed, giving the colours a very natural tone.
Best wishes,
Achim

Pankaj, The shot of this shield bug is superb and full of colors. Though the BG is slightly OOF but the view goes on the shield bug. Excellent friend Ganesh

Hi Pankaj,
Well composed with nice colors and exposure..Hard to get sharp at 1/60th with even a slight breeze or insect movement IMHO. I use mirror lock and remote or timer at this speed.
TFS and have a nice weekend.

Hello Pankaj,
This brown bug looks really beautiful against the orange flower. Great sharp and shiny details. It looks as if he's just landed. Beautiful composition in lovely colours.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Pankaj,
Nice capture of a Shieldbug contrasting well with the bright orange flower. Though parts of it are sharp I wonder if the use of flash would have allowed a higher aperture value and increased the DOF. That's only speculation and I gather that you are only starting to explore the possibilities of DSLR photography.
Well done, TFS and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Hi Pankaj,
a very nice picture with quite good sharpness but it could better, I think it's your lens even if it's named macro it's not a macro-lens with good sharpness at close distance, wait and see when you get a reall macro-lens.
The picture is well composed with fine POV and lovely colours.
Well done.
Have a nice weekend

It is quite an attractive insect, despite being stinky. I like very much showing him off against that intense background. Nice work.

TFS
Evelynn : )

Nice composition and colours.
