Beauty of Common Jezebel
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Just when I was looking for some flowers to shoot on a leisurely garden photography session [in my own garden] with my new camera, I just happened to notice a beauty of a butterfly waft by and close to me. Very soon, I got it identified as a COMMON JEZEBEL from my favourite garden website [www.davesgarden.com].
Once I got it uploaded on to the PC, I noticed that it was almost a *fresh* butterfly and that is why perhaps it was a bit slow and flew low. My earlier attempts to capture it has been futile [ended up in 'unshareable' pictures]. But that day, I was so satisfied to see its wings in their colourful best [not much tuning has been done to this, except perhaps some cropping]. The brightness may also be an indication that it had just arrived on the 'scene'. Glance your eyes on to the folds on the wings - they look as if a neatly pressed cloth has been just unfolded! In another close-up shot, I saw the texture esp. in the yellow part.
This beauty cooperated with me going so close as a macro distance, but I had to move in as slowly as I could with minumum fuss else that would take off! My body was like a statue, just trying to lean towards the subject, fully balanced, to get as closer as possible. It flew off when it was time for it to look for newer spots and probably flowers. I said thanks! I had never seen such beauty so close for so long! And that too, as restless an insect as a butterfly. No 'butterflies in the stomach' then!
Hope you all too enjoy looking at this!

hi dinu,
wonderful picture, but try avoiding to write name on the picture..its a bit distracting...you can write in any corner of the picture preferabally bottom corner..dont feel bad :)

A fully colored and well composed picture. Your angle or position is on for my perspective. The colors are wonderfully right without saturation. Don't change or alter a thing in which you do. It is very good.

Gorgeous. A butterfly I have never seen before. The composition and color are outstanding. Well done.
Every once in awhile, butterflies smile at photographers! This is a beautiful shot of a beautiful butterfly!
