There are some 7,000 species of robber flies distributed worldwide.
The Robber Flies are active hunter. They also know as Assassin Fly and Bee Killer. They have strong legs which can catch prey on flight. Robber flies have strong proboscis that use for stabbing prey and injecting saliva that paralyze and dissolve tissues. The robber fly sucks the juice from the prey body. Most robber flies are with noticeable "beard" of setae around the face. It is believed that they serve as protection to their face from damage by their prey.
Their larvae live in soil and rotting wood and are predaceous on other insect larvae.

Hello Ganesh,
clear and sharp objects against a noise-free background. The fine hairs of the robberfly and of the plant, both are well reproduced. General and colour composition as well as light are perfect.
Best wishes, Peter
