[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It wasn't a day for photographers - cloudy, windy and chilly. However I was out with my camera to my usual points. When I noticed this Lynx Spider, at first I was happy because my earlier attempts to capture it in daylight proved wrong as the light reflecting from its white body made it OE. But when I saw the result on the computer it was absolutely disheartening, because the image was a bit UE. Anyway I chose to upload this shot because probably this is the first shot of this species being uploaded on TN. I have a few other shots of this species, shot at different time and place, will post them sometime later. For the time being enjoy this posting and let me know your observations.

--------------------
"Lynx Spiders" are hunting spiders that spend their lives on plants, flowers and shrubs. Nimble runners and jumpers, they rely on their keen eyesight to stalk, chase or ambush prey. Six of their eight eyes are arranged in a hexagon-like pattern, a characteristic that identifies them as members of the family Oxyopidae. They also have spiny legs.

Some members of the genus Oxyopes are abundant enough to be important in agricultural systems as biological control agents. This is especially true of the striped lynx spider Oxyopes salticus.

Scientific classification -
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Arachnida
Order: Araneae
Superfamily: Lycosoidea
Family: Oxyopidae (Thorell, 1870)

Hello Sumon !
Even if the conditions were difficult, it is an excellent picture ! Perfect sharpness, wonerful composition and POV, beautiful colors, and the dky makes a splendid BG. I also like the legs of the spider, they look almost translucent, even if I couldn't imagine getting that close to a spider myself ! :-) Very well done !
Valerie.

Tack sharp detail,perfect exposure,fantastic composition.
Marvellous work as usual.

Hello Sumon,
Even though this is slightly UE it is still a superb capture of a Lynx Spider, the face and large jaws showing sharply and with good detail, as the rest of the spider. Its position on the curved stem makes the thumbnail mystery that demands a view to solve it.
Pleasing composition against a blue sky and fine informative note.
Well done and thanks,
Ivan

Another extraordinary one, Sumon.
I like that blue background, the sharp depicted spider, compo, etc...
Well done again!

A most creative shot. You have caught a complex set of patterns which if not done right, as it is now done right, would have thrown the eye off the subject. But in this case it added some eye candy fun for the right and left brained to see and think about.

Hello Sumon,
Brilliant capture of this fellow who's placed himself in a very peculiar position! It is a very interesting and beautiful spider, I expect it was pretty big? Great sharpness and fine colours that stand out very nicely against the blue background. Very well composed too.
Many thanks, Ulla

Hi Sumon,
I'm happy that you're posting this species of Green Lynx from India. Don't know why I would assume that my Texas Lynx was the only one ;}
My favorite spider, you've presented this species artfully. Really like the composition/POV here mf. This interesting perch & sky BG can't be beat :)
