I saw this perch here at the Kukkarahalli Lake after I heard a splashing noise in the water. This is an Indian pond heron. Ardeola grayii.
Here it is in its normal method of feeding by standing hunched up at the water's edge watching patiently for movement and jabbing at the quarry when opportunity offers. Sometimes it wades into the shallows, moving forward stealthily and with circumspection, neck craned and bill poised in readiness. |

Perse heron's sharpness you could have had cropped it further, however the over all rating & POV of this picture is high & the heron stands out well from the water body. Cheers.
