This tiger is known simply as The Collared Male and he lives in the Ranthambhore National Park in Rajasthan, India.
It's hard to say what use the collar is put to.
No-one collects or records any data about his travels or his domain.
It is generally accepted that he has been collared just because the Rajasthan Forest Authority has decided that they should have a tiger that is collared, just so it appears that they are taking some "scientific" interest in our tigers.
Indian politics, all very bizarre...
