Hi Vishal,
The flash has helped to make him stand out well against the mottled background, good detailed capture.

Terry.

It is a Xenochrophis piscator (The chequered keelback) snake. In this case on the tree, but it is mainly on land. It is the biggest and most widespread of its genus. With some certainty it may be X. flavipunctatus (regarded as subspecies), but i dont have many info about the latter

Hi Vishal,
Very nice light on the head which enhanced his colours.
Great details and perfect catch of the eye.
Well done!

Great and sharp focus on the head. Not easy to get a whole out of it body, anyway that much is fine.

Hi Vishal,
The snake in your picture to me seems most likely to be a Striped Keelback (Ampheiesma stolatum), definately not Checkered Keelback. It is a ground dwelling snake, quite quick, easy to handle. The yellow around the neck appears during breeding.
I have posted a photograph of the same species ( Booo) earlier.
A nice photograph i might add.

Hi Vishal, for someone who didn't know what kind of snake this was, you shot this at 70mm; you sure got close. It's a very nice shot with perfect capture of the head. With him climbing down the vine like that it adds real interest. Your selection of aperture was good, in muting out the background. Great shot.
Thanks, John

Namasté Vishal, (Did I spell that right?)
I like the way this snakes body drapes through your nicely framed image the exposure displays very nice natural colors and clarity. TFS :)
