[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Rose-ringed Parakeet (Psittacula krameri), also known as the Ringnecked Parakeet, is a gregarious tropical parakeet species that is popular as a pet. Its scientific name commemorates the Austrian naturalist Wilhelm Heinrich Kramer.

This non-migrating species is one of few parrot species that have successfully adapted to living in 'disturbed habitats', and in that way withstood the onslaught of urbanisation and deforestation. In the wild, this is a noisy species with an unmistakable squawking call.

As is the case with all Psittacula (Afro-Asian Ringnecked Parakeet) species, the Rose-ringed Parakeet is sexually dimorphic. The adult male sports a black neck-ring and pink nape-band while the hen and immature birds of both sexes either show no neck rings, or display shadow-like pale to dark grey neck-rings and light (lighter coloured than surroundings) nape-bands.

PS:The Badkhal Lake is located in Faridabad, on the outslirts of New Delhi. While the lake has actually dired up, the surroundings are still a bird-watchers paradise.

Good image of these two Parakeets relaxing on the broken off braches of a tree and one of them testing the strength of his hooked beak on the stump.
Good POV, composition and colours.
In a bird picture, the eye should be the target area for focus. The moment you get the eye right, all other things fall into place.
Sorry for the lecture again; can't help being a teacher even though I'm retired now :-)!
Regards.

nice composition, and good colouration, slightly fuzzy, but that does not detract from the great picture, good notes as well.TFS

Hi Goldy,

A very well composed capture! But I think it is a bit more exposed. I like the poses of Parakeets. Nice colors and details. Well done my friend!
TFS.
Cheers,
Bayram

Hi Goldy, lovely couple with splendid colors and excellent sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

hi Goldi,

Good composition from these parrakeets.
Pity from the purple fringe (PF) in the sky with the trees.
Also a little sharper photo was better.
Colors are good.

regards Gert

It is great to see those parakeets free. I love your picture with a sensational light and the two birds busy with bird things. Great colours, nice composition, thank you Goldy!

Francine

Heyyy Goldy! How are you doin? I see new photo, nice perspective, natural colors. I wish it could be more sharpen, but still it looks perfect.
Cheers
Clara

Hi Goldy,

We get these noisy little things in the UK now. I like the composition here and it's good that you managed to capture two in the same shot. A little noisy and a slightly smaller aperature might have given you more detail, but a good shot nonetheless. I really live the colours and quality of light.

Mike

Hello Goldy. Good image for us to see here . Nicely perched in vertical format presentation. Regards. Jusni
