I was at the Dhangadi Gate, near the museum when I saw a few people gather around a tree, all looking up.
I had my camera slung since we'd just finished our Safari and were heading out.Joining the group,I saw this bird - the Mommy - and clicked her.As the group dispersed, I heard the squeaks of the Baby and captured it as well.
I am not too good at recalling names of birds, so the 'Dunnos'.
Please do suggest what the species of these is.

Hi Brother Goldy,
A wonderful presentation and beautiful captures! Your notes excellent as usual. TFS.
Cheers,
Bayram

Malabar Mynah Sturnus malabaricus malabaricus, also known as the Chestnut-tailed Starling. The shot of the adult bird is technically pretty poor, but good enough for ID.

hello Goldy

lovely shots of the mom and the baby, excellent POV & framing,
i specially love the baby's image, it is a lovely shot with excellent
details and excellent luminosity, Merlin is writting that is
the Chestnut-tailed Starling, today i learned things,
i didn't kno that they where more than one kind of starling
and today your images are the second time that i see
that there is more than one kind of starlings, TFS

Goldy,
Nigel (Merlin) is right. An aside on the potential reclassification is in order. Subject to peer review this race, along with race nemoricola (ranging in the northeast), may be split from the formerly associated Western Ghats race blythii. A change in generic name is also being proposed = Sturnia. The English Common Names being proposed, and which I expect already to cause problems for obvious reasons, will be Grey-headed Starling (i.e. Sturnia malabarica (nominate race, and nemoricola); and Malabar White-headed Starling (Sturnia blythii).

Hello Goldy,

The juv looks sharp out of the hole making two experts here confirmed the ID. Nicely presented here in TN. Regards. Jusni

Hello Goldy,
Beautiful pictures of Mommy and Baby Starling. The little starling looking at the world is well seen. TFS these nice pictures.

Hello Goldy,
this is a beautiful picture with very good POV and composition.Well done.

The baby image is better than the mom image for obvious reasons, Goldy. The baby picture is sharper with better details, especially the bird's eye. The mom image is not all that sharp and there is some noise too.
However, both shots are well composed.
Keep shooting, experimenting and working innovatively with your photo-editing software.
