This is a stilt found on the oxidation reduction tank beyond the airstrip IIT Kanpur.
Stilts are waders in the same bird family as the avocets. They are found in brackish or saline wetlands in warm or hot climates.
They have extremely long legs, hence the group name, and long thin bills. Stilts typically feed on aquatic insects and other small creatures and nest on the ground surface in loose colonies.
The is some dispute about the taxonomy of the stilts. Handbook of Birds of the World |

Hi Subhayan,
interesting shot. I would crop it different. it is needed line up horizontal line See workshop.
Yourself enthusiastic photographer.
Good light. tfs. Stev
Nice shot. The reflections and the ripples look beautiful.
A very nice shot you have here! I just feel that it should have been cropped to cut out the excess space on top of the stilt, and then rotated to straighten out those ripples! A little sharpening would have really brought out the stilt as well, but other than those minor details you've captured this well, the exposure is perfect!

Hello Subhayan, Interesting shot. You have created the composition perfect. I like the shadows of the long trees. Excellent view of the bird shadow in the water.
