Continuing with my series of Olive Ridley hatchlings' first journey onto the sea I present another phenomenon today. Imagine the entire stretch of 3.5 kms beach patterned and designed in this beautiful manner. Rows and rows of these lines dot the beach and it seemed like someone has painstakingly designed it by hand. As the early sunlight bathed the sea beach the first thing which caught my eyes were these and I stood there for quite sometime stunned at their beauty. The hatchlings have gone out to the sea the entire night and have left behind these outstanding trails made with their body, hands and legs. If only they could realise how wonderful and eye-catching their slow walk also is and what stamp they have left behind on the mind on their first journey itself.

I have shot quite a few of these patterns but I select this one because it shows the tiny protagonist too. And I intentionally placed it at the centre to give a different feel to the image. Shot taken hand-held early that morning. The golden sunlight gives the image a fine touch and the uneven beach gives a fine effect. Hope everyone like it.

I dedicate this shot to my friend and great photographer Haraprasan Nayak who has come a long way with his creative images and skillful work.

Hi Sumon,

Placing the lone little turtle in the center presents such a feeling of vastness and loneness (if there's such a word). The patterns are remarkable and beautiful. He looks so tiny and yet you show wonderful details. I must add that I have never seen sand this color.

Hello Sumon,
A wonderful pattern of trails left by these Olive Ridley hatchlings with the sole individual looking like he has far to go.
Excellent composition and lighting.
TFS this fine image,
Regards, Ivan

Hi Sumon!
This picture clearly shows how huge is the world for so small tutrles! It is very artistic picture, but also a very nice documentary image. This little one looks really alone in the world, where in every place predators and other kind of danger are waiting...
Very nice work!
TFS and have a nice weekend!
Friendly yours,
Radomir

Have a nice weekend.

Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Sumon. another superb shot at this early life. Stunning texture on the sand and you have seen all the elements well here. Best regards and have a wonderful weekend. regards. Jusni

I love the light, the patterns, the sharpness, and the simplicity of this unique shot!

Hello Sumon,
Nicely captured with a beautiful pattern of sand in a wonderful colour!
the subject is so small compare with the vastness from the sand!
well done
cheers
Tony

Hi Sumon,
Interesting "minimalist" composition, the sands texture & patterns make the shot. I think showing the tiny "protagonist" center frame works quite well actually :)
Well done!
Howard

The tapestry these crawling little hatchlings have made on the sand is exquisite, Sumon.
They also provide the scale to the size of the one within the frame.
A very impressive image that documents a significant moment from the strange ways of mother nature.
Thanks and best regards.
Ram

Hi Sumoon, an other lovely composition from this splendid serie, great graphic effect of tracks on sands, very well done, have a good sunday, ciao Silvio

Hi Sumon,
This is SO original. At first, when I had a look at the thumbnail, I thought it was a spider or something (I missed your previous post of it)... I was surprised to see this beautiful creature and those particular sand designs it creates. This is something very well done and that we don't see often. Thanks for sharing this interesting moment.

Hallo Mana
A fine dedication to Haraprasan. I find your series on the Olive Ridley hatchlings very interesting. It is something different and not the usual we see on Trek Nature on a daily basis. The information given is educational and valuable. The patterns in the sand are striking, and have a creative flair to it. It looks like some kind of work of art. Well seen and captured.
Kind regards
Anna

Hello Sumonda, WOW what a design. Excellent compo and I am sure HP should be happy. Excellent clarity. Ganesh

This is an incredible shot Sumon. It is the textures in the sand that make it. The turtle is just a player in this huge game that you witnessed. These tracks really give a great indication of the mammoth effort involved with many thousands of this hatchlings.

Thanks, John

Gran originalidad Sumon. Original y efectivo ángulo de disparo. Realismo en los colores y una dimensión del espacio atractiva.
