Its fruitpulp is used as mild laxative, against fevers, arthritis, vatavyadhi (nervous system diseases), all kinds of rakta-pitta (bleeding, such as hematemesis or hemorrhages), as well as cardiac conditions and stomach problems such as acid reflux. The root is considered a very strong purgative. Self-medication or any use without medical supervision is strongly advised against in Ayurvedic texts. Its seeds are poisonous.

How many of these yellow flowers on this Indian Laburnum! I have a common Laburnum in my garden, but it never is so richely decorated.
Excellent note too. Thanks a lot

Hi Nirmal, you are showing a lot of unknown species,i think many are posted for first time on TN,this is very beautifull and interesting,my best compliments again for your work, have a nice day,Luciano

Hi Nirmal,

A very nice shot of this attractive tree's blooms. Interestingly, we have a couple species of Cassia that are native here where I live, but they are not trees, they're small herbaceous plants.

Thanks,
John

Hi Nirmal,
Beatiful tree and flowers, very good details. Good Note.
Cheers
Raimundo

Hi Nirmal,
You have done what I have been wanting to do since the Amaltas trees started showing their lovely yellow flowers recently.
You have chosen an attactive bunch of them and framed it very well.
It makes a nice and appealing composition.

Ram
