[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the first week of April, the Flame of the Forest trees were in full bloom. They bear large red flowers that are apparently full of nectar.
On a Sunday morning, I decided to explore the activity on those trees and I was not disappointed. There were a number of winged insects having a gala time on those flowers. There were House Flies, Hover Flies, Flesh Flies, Bees and Wasps swooping on to the flowers and having their fill. I have already posted the picture of a yellow Wasp from that day's shoot.

Today I am posting the picture of a Bee from that occasion. I discovered it today while processing RAW files and realized that even though the picture is not perfect, it could be posted here for a little variety.

I captured this Bee backing out from the flower after biting off a large chunk of pollen from one of the stigmas of the flower. The stigma is on top of the row. The bee has the whole chunk in its mouth and its one leg is also laden with more pollen.

The picture was taken hand-held looking up at the sky, which makes a fairly good background in this picture.
Hope you fing this activity picture of some interest.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Hello Ram, it's quite a feat to catch an insect in-flight, I'm not sure I'd even attempt it as it must be quite a frustrating exercise. Good framing with the nectar in sight. I think the detail is a little soft and the colors a little over-saturated but still a very good capture. Kind regards, Adrian

Hi Ram,
Beautiful in flight macro.POV,colors and composition are perfect.
Thanks for posting.

Dear Ram,
a very dynamical, eye catching, powerful composition.
The strict reduction on two elements in front of a uniformly coloured background is convincingly well done, and the deep saturation of colours is perfectly reflecting the pleasures of life. Thank you!
My best regards,
Peter

Spettacolare macro, splendida scelta compositiva di tipo astratto con un POV verso l'alto e con colori molto saturi, buona nitidezza. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Great Ram; We have many many yellowjackets already and they are also already attacking humans...but so far I have yet to see one honey bee. We are keeping our fingers crossed. A lovely in flight shot...Even a bit harder than catching birds, as you must be down and among them to get this...which I will not be doing...the meds I have to take after being stung do not allow me to do much...drowsy etc...fine clear, sharp image.
Bob

Hi RAm,

Beautiful picture. the colors in the picture is varied and is nicely composed. Overall the picture is very rich. Slightly sharpness could have improved.

A very different composition, Ram Sir.The timing is perfect and this must've been quite a difficult shot.
Cheers!
Goldy

A perfect capture of a backward flying bee Ram, not an easily planned occasion my friend, that is a hard working bee, not only its pollen baskets, but also its mouth is full of pollen! A lovely composition in saturated contrasty colours!
Have a nice weekend Sir!

Hello Sir,
Lovely action shot of the bee. Excellent POV,DOF and details. The blue sky, the red flower and the Yellow banded bee brings a splash of colours to this frame.
