Hello Friends

This is a Flower Mantis (Tirumala limniace) from Hymenopodidae family.

Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Arthropoda

Class: Insecta

Order: Mantodea

Family: Hymenopodidae

Subfamily: Hymenopodinae

Tribe: Hymenopodini

Genus: Creobroter

Creobroter or Flower mantises are a genus of mantis concentrated in Western Asia. The name comes from the Greek "kreas" (combining form "kreo-", meaning "flesh"), and "broter" (eating); therefore, "flesh-eating", an apt name for a predatory insect. Both genders have long wings and are capable fliers. Full-grown males are about 3 or 4 cm in length, females about 4 or 5 cm.

A fine capture of a beautiful predator waiting in ambush Fartash, the eyes and abdomen of this mantis are very interesting. The mellow reds of the OOF flowers in the backdrop provide good contrast, hence contribute to a fine composition. TFS this nice scene.

Hello Fartash, The left is slightly OOF but th right one is actually compensating with the subject. Lovely view and superb focus. Great composition and sharpness. Ganesh
