Hi all,
This was shot a a while back, and this was one of the few dragon fly portraits that i have tried, i am not sure about the id of the insect.
Shooting portraits of insects always amazes me as the details that we get to see is seldom seen through naked eye.
Hope you ppl will like it
Regards,
Goutham R

Hi Goutham,

This eye is amazing! Fantastic close-up with great details and good colors. I agree with what you said in your notes. We see so much in the macros of the insects than we ever could with the human eye.

Jane

Hi Goutham,
Nice sharp macro. Liked the blue eyes. Insect macros on screen are much larger than life images and opens up a new world of vision. TFS

Yes Goutham macro portraits can be interesting and amazing for they revela such intimate details of these little creations that are unseen by the naked human eye.Lovely details and sharpness...and big blue patterned eye is quite sharp and in superb focus.

Ramesh Bhai, i agree with your statement 100%. it really opens the world of joy. I am seeing this with blue eye for the first time. Lovely macro shot. Ganesh

Goutham,
I hate these ultra close images of yours, you know.
But, thanks, I am wondering why the d fly is folding its forelegs.

Hi Goutham,
Thanks for looking at my Crocothemis picture and writing your critique.
With your 180mm macro, you have done the impossible -- such a huge and faultless macro of a dragonfly that looks like a Slender Skimmer (Orthetrum sabina) to me.
I am making a guess on the colour of the eye and the markings on the thorax.
Regards,
Ram

Hi Goutham,
very nice Eyes, Bold and beautiful composition. As for my knowledge this Dragon fly is named as 'Biddie'(Sc.Name:Cordulegaster Dorsalis from the family of 'cordulegastridae' Order 'Odonata' in which all Dragon & Damsel flies are identified. As the Ref. is from American guide it was mentioned as distributed all over the America! may be with local variations this Dragon fly may seen allover the world. The bright Yellow stripes are more prominent ID. anyway a Bold Macro!

Hola Goutham,
Extraordinario acercamiento en el que aprecian los detalles con gran nitidez, bonito fondo e iluminación, saludos
José Ramón
