Hello Iris,
Wow, this is a very beautful moth that you've caught here! The antennae do look like whiskers and it almost looks as if it has horns as well!! These shots are both excellent showing beautiful sharp details and colours in good light. A fine contrasting background too. I hope somebody can help you with the ID. Well done!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi Irishues.
You managed to met and picture a very nice species of moth. Despite the DOF is shallow a little bit (light conditions were not the best) I like the image very much. Sharpness of the main part of the image as well as rich colours are great. Both shots are composed excellently. Exposure is very good too. Well done and TFS.

Moth trivia...like Jeopardy? alex...Travec? Hmmmm...I think I would have to cash out on this one Iris.....but I can say the colours of the green bush/tree are as super as the moth! And the moth is not really an ID shot but my guess is that sir Ivan or one will get it soon.

Hello Iris,
Superb capture of this amazing moth. Beautiful detail. I think the POV in the WS is better: the eyes can be better seen. Beautiful colours.
Cheers,

Bellissima macro di questa strana falena, molto bella la composizione, anche se l'angolo di ripresa e la scarsa luce hanno permesso una limitata DOF, ottima definzione nella zona a fuoco, molto belli i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Silpa,
Both the main and the workshop captures of this moth are a joy to see, especially for one like me that has not seen this species before. But I can tell you that this is a species of Tiger Moth (Arctiidae). Both images are of excellent quality regarding lighting, sharpness, POV's and composition.
I suspect that there are two ticks on either side of the dark central marking on the back of the thorax: I don't think they are part of this tiger moth.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,
Ivan

Hi Iris,
This certainly is a weird and wonderful moth. As you said....technically there is a bit of a problem but this site is also about learning nature and you've given us a lesson here.Nice vibrant colour.

Complicada toma aunque muy interesante !! Supongo que con problemas en la iluminación y pese a ello es un excelente documento. Se publican pocas especies de este estilo, por otra parte de gran belleza. Gracias por tus comentarios.

Good Morning Iris,
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.
