The beauty of Lonawala is exceptional during monsoon season. Lonawala is a hill station approximately 75 miles away from Mumbai towards Pune, situated on ghats. The climb to these mountains from the Deccan plateau changes the scenario to what you may call as sitting within the clouds with super cool climate. All around one can see waterfalls, splendid flora, fauna and verdant forest painting the earth green.
The place shown in this landscape is Ambey Valley at Lonawala. The hill with flat topography shown in the background is partially under clouds & is known for its historical value as one of the high observation posts of the Maratha Emperor Chtrapati Shivaji, who used it against Mughals.

i'd love to go and live in that oh! so! beautifully placed cottage.
a wider view would have been better, imo

Subhash, I would have kept the building and the tarred road out of my frame in this picture of a lovely place in Maharashtra.
Other than that, the monsoon mood in this verdant place is truly fascinating.
I find that tower-like land formation hidden partially in the clouds also very attractive.
Regards.
Ram
