[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Tawny Eagle, Aquila rapax, is a large bird of prey. It is about 62–72 cm in length and has a wingspan of 165–185cm. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. It was once considered to be closely related to the migratory Steppe Eagle, Aquila nipalensis, and the two forms have previously been treated as conspecific. They were split based on pronounced differences in morphology and anatomy (Clark, 1992; Olson, 1994; Sangsteret al., 2002); molecular analysis[citation needed] indicates that these birds are not even each other's closest relatives.

This was shot at Hessargatta lake bund last sunday, though for 300mm it was quite far, have done cropping to get little decent picture.Trust you like it. It is exciting to shoot raptors. They look so majestic.

Hello Chandra,
The are indeed majestic and a challenge to zoom in on..
I'm always excited to see them..
Well seen.

Best regards,
Jane

Hi Chandu,
Though the compo is good, the picture is very soft and with lots of noise. May be next time try for a better processing of this picture.

Hi Chandra,

A pity from the noise, the bird looks sharp enough.
Good composition.

Hi Chandra,
Yes the picture is very sharp but there are a lot of noise. But I like the composition here. I will try to make a WS out of it. Thanks a lot for sharing.

hi shekar,
no doubt this is very good image, only you processed badly. this is a lesson for you. tfs. nagraj.v

There is considerable noise in the picture, Mr Shekar.
There is free noise removal software available on the net. Just google the word 'Neatimage' in case you don't have it.
It is good tool but flattens the details on the subject.
Other than that, you have captured the eagle in an elegant pose.
Ram

Shekhar - you got a magnificent pose here. As all already said about the noise you can remove the noise by "neatimage" software freely available in internet. Applying neatimage you might loose the details of the bird. In that case blend the two images in photoshop keeping the neatimaged filter on top and erase the bird from there.
