The other day, Jane shared a beautiful monsoon clouds picture and while writing my appreciation of that lovely image, I told her that I had done something similar, but very tentatively. The reason I gave for my tentativeness is the fact that the urban horizon in the north Indian Plains is sordid if not downright ugly. The eye-sores are those power lines and the maze of TV cables.
Nevertheless, monsoon clouds are something that leave you breathless on certain occasions when the sky is clear but shapes of clouds keep on drifting across it.
On the evening of 11th July, I just strolled out onto
the terrace of my house and was immediately drawn by the scene in the sky. I grabbed my camera and then hesitated. Right in front of me at two meters were those ugly electric wires and poles. The only way out was to aim at the sky only, which I eventually did.
The result is in front of you in the shape of this picture.
Hope you like it.

Jane, whether you like it or not, I would like to dedicate this picture to you because your picture of monsoon clouds in your country gave me immense joy!!

Mercifully, monsoon is quite active on the Indian sub-continent these days. It is a typical weather condition spread over a couple of months that decides the fate of our country in numerous ways.

Hi Ram!

Wonderful! That's the right adjective for this picture. It's the proof how simple images can be so expressive, deep and powerful... as many other simple things in our life!

Kind regards

Markus

N.B. In 2 weeks I'll be out for some weeks because of a surgery. I'm looking forward to using this time to read your novel!

Hello Ram,

This is just stunning!
Your composition is excellent with the clouds creating a billowing right angle and the sky, in varying tones of blue, radiating from them!

Kind regards,

Hello Ram,
You have captured a wonderful play of light as the monsoon clouds approach: the different rays of blue being astounding.
A beautiful skyscape and a fine tribute to Jane whose skies are almost always blue.
TFS this delight,
Best wishes, Ivan

It is among the greats! The small shift in tones and the pickup of small tonal changes in the rays of sun...These are the great shots one sees on front covers of certain magazines...or in adverts...believe it or not, some such as AP and Getty Images will copyright super images such as this. They don't pay you for them but they monitor the use with watermarks and you get small residuals..Very nice dedication Ram...

Not only does monsoon decide the fate of your country but of so many people as well! I am always impressed when I hear at the news the flood and the dead... and this picture is terrific, Ram. I have seen Jane picture and your dedication is a petal of a flower to her. The sun rays are almost singing when we look at them and the sight you had was worthed a million time to be snapped and shared. Thank you!

Hi Ram,

I am honored and flattered by your dedication. I knew you would find a way around the cables and wires. And yes, I do remember seeing them in India - lots of them. I was there in Dec/Jan and never saw a sky like this. Absolutlely magnificent with those wonderful clouds and beams of light. I don't think I have ever seen so many shades of blue in the sky at one time. As I type the storm clouds are moving over the mountains - it has been a productive season and we need it. Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.
