[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,
last week end Myself, Satish, Vinay and Manjunath visited areas around bannerghatta national park and found lots of macro subjects to shoot and this is one of them. What i liked about the shot is "dewdrops decorated web" and the spider itself. I believe this is a kind of Tunnel web spider, any help with the id is welcome :-).

Cheers,
Goutham R

Hi Goutham,
Nice macro of the web and spider. We too have them here, the web is made on the grass and thank god they are not poisonous like the Australian ones.

Some info from wiki..
The araneomorph funnel-web spiders of the family Agelenidae include the common grass spiders of the genus Agelenopsis, as well as the purportedly venomous European hobo spider, Tegenaria agrestis, which has been introduced into the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Note: The araneomorph funnel-web spider should not to be confused with the funnel-web tarantula and the venomous funnel-web tarantula, both of which are members of the suborder Mygalomorphae. The venomous funnel-web tarantulas include the infamous Sydney funnel-web spider.

Anil

Goutham,

Looks phenomenal with water droplets surrounding the spider. A stronger directional lighting would have made this dramatic.

hi goutham,
beautifully captured spider, good specimen too. nice composition and placement of your subject. the dewdrops just fine here in what looks like ambient light. i know these spiders are difficult to induce to pose like this and very wary. excellent work. tfs.

Hello Goutham, Amazing shot with such a superb macro work. Wonderful Ganesh

The dewdrops on the web are truly magnificent, Goutham. They look like a wide necklace of pearls. You have captured this unusual occurance very well and have also got the owner of this web at the centre.
All in all, it is a kind of high class nature picture that can be classified as rarity on TN.
Thanks and regards.
Ram
