Wandering Glider
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I took this shot in the afternoon against the cloudy sky background. Light was not enough for showing subject colours [the insect is having a orangish tinge], hence a silhouette effect.
This is a wandering glider aka globetrotter [Pantala flavescens]. There were many hovering around and it is said when these dragonflies flying around like that is some indication of rain and it did that evening! There were two or three trying to sit on the same Hibiscus twig - they sat at one time, but I could not manage a satisfactory shot. I settled on this silhouette besides another when the sun was out and shone on it for a short while.
I've done some cropping and resizing only. |

Dinu,
very very artistic shot indeed.
I like your flexibility of resorting to a silhouette seeing the light was bad.
