[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a jumping spider [exact species to be identified - hope someone will come up with a clue] looking right into the camera lens. Have resized and sharpened with just one step / click using Picasa 3. Cropped off some areas around the borders. If it senses danger, it jumps off to escape leaving a thin and tough silk thread perhaps to retrace its way back if needed. But its name comes from the way it catches prey. It waits till the prey is within its jumping range [may be a couple of cms.] by holding it firmly and injecting it with poison before dragging it away. Very swift jumper!
