Friends,
After my picture of solo Damselfly doing a balancing act, here comes a picture of the the pair. With such a fine setting at the Karanji Lake butterfly park, we actually saw at least 3-4 mating pairs. This one was seated on the edge of a leaf, giving full uncluttered parallel view.
Damselflies are very sensitive to movement and they can fly around in this formation to a far away plant. Hence I had to approach this very carefully and slowly. I set up my Tripod taking time and cut some of the leaves that were cluttering the background. The pair was sitting there all the time. I took many pictures as the Sun played hide and seek. Unfortunately, those taken under bright light showed significant reflections from the leaf supporting the pair. Hence I chose this picture taken under cloudy conditions providing soft light.
Again, took conscious decision to shoot at F11 to get the entire pair in focus. I was lucky to have the pair perfectly in line, giving me a flat area to focus.
They remained there for nearly 15-20 minutes.
Regards,

Hi Murali
The picture attracted me first as i saw the damelflies did bear resemblance to one i shot recently. I 'm yet to find a mating pair of damsels and i see you were lucky to find piars of them.
This is a lovely composition presenting good details, with a nice PoV.The well saturated colours do very well for me...I love that buttersmooth BG you produce.....the leaf jutting out as perch makes the composition quite attractive.
Thanks for sharing
Cheers
