Winter arrived

well, winter finally arrived in Bangalore. Yesterday I had been to lalbagh, it was bit cold and could see lot of dew formation on grass and insects like this dragonfly, welcoming the winter.
The morning was brilliant with sunlight and blue skies working wonder on my mind and heart as I captured this dragonfly laden with dew. This particular place was in shadow of bushes and sunlight not reaching yet. The background was very busy and so used very little depth, with pale greens and browns but the ambient light caught the dragonfly and its wings beautifully.
Hope to utilise the winter season with some lovely images.

Hi nagaraj
Excellent composition.Good POV and sharp image.I like the nice OOF Bg and the light on your subject is also very nice.

It looks like this guy has a slight layer of frost on him. Winter has arrived hasn't it? Beautifully lit specimen and the detail is great. The dark BG adds to the feeling of winter. Wonderfully composed and presented. TFS Nagaraj. :)

Namaste Nagaraj,
I love this shot - to see these tiny drops on the pretty wings of the dragon, that's marvelous. Winter in South-India, of which temerature are you talking?
We also had the beginning of winter today - it was snowing. All the dragons and insects died now and I have to wait until next June to have them back - such a long time, that's sad!
Thanks for your beauty, bye and greetings

Nagaraj,

It looked ordinary in the Thumbnail. Once I opened the page, I could see why you were excited about this picture. Well done. You have effectively used Sun light and dew drops to paint this excellent picture.

Hi Nagaraj,
Interesting idea for this shot rendered quite successfully under difficult conditions. Very pleasing, thanks.

Hi Nagaraj, your choice of light position is decisive! We can see perfectly the reflections inside the dragon, very excellent work, details at the top, thanks for share,Luciano

I seriously love the etheral properties of the image..they bring something out which many never see...almost a part of the 'soul of insects' should there be such a thing....Very nice!

Hello Nagraj, Lovely composition and good image view. The hazy BG is spot on. Ganesh

Hi Nagraj,

This is lovely image of dragon fly, with good back lighting which has highlighted the dew, as usual composition is good, only I felt the stick running down in front is bit distracting, of course its situational. TFS.

Hello Nagaraj,
You've frozen this shot which makes me to feel the temperature there.Composition and POV are very interesting.
Thanks for sharing

Hello Nagraj,

Beautiful picture of this wet dragonfly. Beautiful composition. Good POV. DOF could have been a little broader I think to better see the dew on the wings. Good focus and beautiful detail. Nice light and colours. Not winter, but it was cold the past days here.
Cheers,
Mariki

Hi Nagaraj

A very beautiful shot of this dragonfly in such early morning.
I've seen some friends shooting dragonflies in dew this year and i also wanted to try it....i guess it'll have to wait for next year.
Your capture here shows both these elements very well and together they give a special light to the subject.
Good details and nice color, but with maybe a bit shallow DOF.
Even so, very nice work!

Bravo and TFS
Horia
