The Beehive

Here is something interesting, I hope, of a beehive which I found in Lalbagh in a small tree almost at the eye level. The weather on that day was overcast and the exposure in the shade was very low, thanks to my tripod I could capture this. I was scarred to use my in built flash lest they may get disturbed and me at so close, well you can imagine. You can see some of the bees blurred because of the slow shutter (1 sec) speed I had used. For me this looks like very good natural pattern to enjoy, hope you too will enjoy.

Hello Nagraj,
A fine capture of part of a swarm of Honey Bees. Despite the low shutterspeed you managed pretty good sharpness so that we can see the individual bees clearly.
TFS this interesting image,
Regards,
Ivan

I have seen this type of image before but each one I see is different...It is hypnotizing looking at it...very much it forms a pattern in nature...we capture the energy as in latency when actually beyond the moment it is quite kinetic! I find that philosophical..more as in Taoist or Buddhist philosophy....Wu-Li ...Patterns of Organic Energy! I read a book by Garry Zukav called Dance of the Wu-Li Masters, many years ago....about physics and how it meets the world in etheral ways...not my favorite though...The Tao of Physics is my favorite!

Dear Nagaraj,

The sheer numbers of bees on the bee hive is amazing as well as terrifying. I would have kept a safe distance from the hive. You are bold. But worth the risk. Slightly brighter lighting would have made this even better.

Best regards Siggi

Hi Nagaraj, amazing composition full of bees, great graphic effect, very well done, ciao Silvio

This is quite interesting Nagaraj. I've never seen a natural hive in the wild. That is a lot of bees. It is a good thing you didn't disturb them! Had you increased your ISO you may have been able to stop some of the action with a faster shutter speed. You might also have tried a wider aperture and a faster shutter?? Or perhaps that wasn't your intent. : )

Hello Nagaraj, Terric shot and they seem to be in a mission. Though the shot is slightly blurred but it doesnt matter. Good shot.Ganesh

Hi Nagaraj!

It does look like a very nice natural pattern, just what I thought when I opened the image! Brave thing to try, I envy you for that! :)
I think the slow shutter just gives some motion to the shot. TFS!

Best regards,
Andor
