This was taken on the same day when we shot the most co-operative Kestrel, yes it came as bonus, thanks to Mr.Sreeraj.

The Montagu's Harrier (Circus pygargus) is a migratory bird of prey of the harrier family. Its common name commemorates the British naturalist George Montagu.

Hi Chandru,
This ought to be your best image, perfect composition and good use of depth to get that pretty background. The bird is looking great, the turn of its head, the gaze, beautiful colors with that dark outer primary feathers and folding of one of its leg, great. I also liked the way the thorny plants lean in to the image with out interrupting the image, it adds to the background. There is one white patch almost in the center touching the edge, you should have taken care of that. Fine image. tfs.

great capture of this Harrier. I like the mode you compose this image (that you let empty space in the direction where the subject is looking)

p.s. i see some strange 'circles' in the image. it is dust on sensor or flare from the lens ?

How did i miss this image on TN? Good one and nice composition. Picture lacks little green and contrast. In fact this is one of the best picture of the species.
