Hi all,

Today I present you Grass Jewel , The smallest butterfly of India, which is when full-grown a little over a quarter of an inch in length!.
Shooting this was challenge and spotting this was equally challenging as well. These Jewels are so fast and small the moment u take ur eyes of them , they are gone!
Here I tried to present, the butterfly in a back light when it was perched on a grass stalk, i would have liked to shoot it in vertical but had to settle for this as i was too low to the ground. To make the best use of the situation , i've left some directional space for a pleasant composition.

Hope u'll like it.

PS. I missed this deadline , in Dec I completed 3 wonderful and learning years on TN.

TFV,
Goutham R

Hi Goutham,

A very nice and sharp macro of the butterfly.

Sowmya

A fine back-lighted capture of this tiny b.fly Goutham, its pastel colours are exceptionally nicely reproduced here against a neutral BG from a good POV. TFS indeed my friend! Tried to increase the contrast level in my WS, hope you like it.
Cheers,
Mehmet

Namaste Goutham,
this tiny guy is lovely, the light is behind - anyhow we can see the wings so clear and with many details. It's an excellent shot, thanks

Hallo Goutham,

You have chosen a very interesting lighting solution. The colors of insect's wings are very well rendered as the soft light is showin a reachness of color tones. Image has an excelent sharpness showing very well the pattern and texture of the wing of the wings.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian
