[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,
This is first post after a long time and I'm glad that I'm back and will start posting again even though I don't approve of some of things that's happening here.
Raganatghittu has a sizable Indian crocodile population which prevents these pelicans from swimming/ resting on water! So what they do is swoop to collect fish; this provides us the photographers ample of opportunities to shoot pictures as these.

Hope you ppl will like it.

Goutham R

Hi Goutham,

Really appreciate the feedback thank you, and apologise for not being around lately, work is a little crazy at the moment not a lot of free time.

It’s ironic I've just seen our news update go to air and it showed Pelican's and other creatures such as Sea Turtles covered in oil on our Morton Bay Area here in Queensland, A tanker was holed when containers fell overboard in the storm we've been having the last couple of days, there saying over 100 tonnes of oil have been spilled. "http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,25180171-421,00.html"

It really brings home how fragile our environment is, and how easily we humans can mess it up so quickly.

This is a great shot of a Pelican in its pristine environment, wonderful light, excellent frozen action right down to the water droplets, very nicely done. t.f.s

Cheers Rick :)

Hello Goutham,

Excellent shot of the Pelican. Always an interesting bird.

Reminds me my school lessons, when the lake Michigan was polluted with DDT and the Pelican population plummeted as the egg shell formation was not possible and all the clutch went waste.

This pelican seems to be in a healthy habitat without any human intereference. Liked the water droplets falling from its feathers.

Thanks for Sharing!
Cheers,
Prasad

Woow Goutham, there is a magic light inside this pic! A most difficult pic,not easy to take so perfectly this in-flight pelican, the drops are fantastics too,my best compliments, very well done, have a nice day,Luciano

Hello Goutham !
You timing was excellent, you have captured the bird at the perfect moment ! I love his pose, and I also love the light falling on him, making him stand out so nicely on the dark BG. Very nicely composed, too. Great picture. I love it. Very well done !
Valérie.

Hi Goutham,
A nice capture of this beautiful pelican taking off. Excellent composition and very good details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

A bright and powerful take-off against a dark backdrop Goutham, the partly "frozen" wingtips provide a good feeling of movement to this dynamic image, TFS indeed my friend!
