Wow! What a super capture...VERY hard to do this..I cannot even get close when they are landed..they seem to have a special sense that I cam coming...but yours is good in all aspects of technicality and special in it's unique capture!

Though the wings are a blurred furry of movement, the body from head to toe is in excellent focus in this daring shot of a flying dragonfly, Goutham.
Well, I too can't be certain of this subject's exact ID.

Hi GGoutham,

Wonderful action shot, the blurred wings gives the picture it life. D50 with its lower pixels gives you the advantage of lesser pixel jumping.

A nice, in-flight image brightly captured via the fill-in flash against a dark, fuzzy BG Goutham, the feeling of motion in this dynamic scene makes it a fine composition. TFS and cheers,

Wow ! Goutham, that is very fast. Very nice picture. I am glad that the flash did not freeze the wings. This is the first time I noticed that the Dragon flies also hold their legs close to the body like birds do.

Apart from your own skills the 50D is shown to be a great camera for in-flights by this fine sharp capture of this Skimmer. The lighting, BG and sharpness are excellent.
I'm considering getting a 50D myself and this is an inspiration.

Wow, impressive shot! Dragonfly is perfectly frozen in time, colours, details and sharpness are superb. I think 1/400 is too long for non blurred wings, but blurred ones add dynamic to your picture.
