[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I tried to use my old combination of D50 and 180mm to get my flight shots , as 50-500 was difficult to use with panning.

Panning is a very important technique with birds in flight, here the camera moves along with the bird to shoot pics

Hi Goutham. The Pelican looks huge in flight. With a large body it must take some power to get in the air. Your timing was good to get this one in the frame with good detail and colours. well done TFS.
Nick..

Have a good weekend.

Hello Goutham,
Very sharp for a 1/250 sec. The details in the feathers of wings, head and body are marvelous. I like the patterns in the wings. The result is fantastic in a very beautiful composition and beautiful natural colours. The blurred BG and the splashes behind the Pelican gives the bird the impression of his flight. Very well done.
Have a good weekend,
Peter

Hi Goutham,
i love the feeling of speed you managed to capture in this shot. The focus looks excellent - a very good example of panning done properly!
Paul

very nice capture, TFS Ori

Hello Goutham, wonderful shot of this beautifıul pelican in flight. I read the panning technique during our bioglogical photogrpahy techniques courses and this one is great example for it.
TFS and regards,
Bahadır

Beautiful results, my friend! The blurry background, yet I can see an impressive amount of detail on this pelican. I love the spurts of water it leaves behind as it takes off. The blur of the wings in flight testifies as to what a wonderful capture this is - excellent timing, too!
:-)

Hello Goutham.

Excellent image, nice composition and colors.
Beatiful bird.

Regards.
Jose Luis.

Hello Goutham,

You did very well with panning with this great Pelican. Everything is sharp except the wing which reflect very well the movement (great use of 1/250s). Excellent POV and nice blurred and dark bg enhancing the bird! The only thing maybe is that I had cloned out the whitish band at the bottom of the picture. I like the droplets leaving the bird too!!!

Great show and TFS!

Michel

Hi Goutham

Looking for that d-fly in-flight you mentioned in my critique, i stumbled across this photo and i just had to congratulate you for it.
Panning is never easy, but you did it very well here and captured this excellent pelican in-flight.
Superb details everywhere, just a little bit of motion blur on the wings to give the photos some more dynamism and good composition.

Bravo and TFS
Horia
