Hello to all my friends in Treknature.

I am very glad that i have finally decided to come back to TN and share my work and learn from all of you as i have done before. The reason i am back here is because i feel this place gives me a big boost, confidance, motivates me and a place where learning is fun. The spirit in TN is surely not the same but i am sure it'll come around.
I dedicate this white Gladiola as an offering of peace to the whole world and sign of hope to all those in distressed.

A few details of this flower:

Scientific classification:-

Kingdom: Plantae
Angiosperms
Monocots
Order: Asparagales
Family: Iridaceae
Subfamily: Ixioideae
Tribe: Ixieae
Genus: Gladiolus

Sometimes called the sword lily, the most widely-used English common name for these plants is simply gladiolus (plural gladioli, gladioluses or sometimes gladiolas).

The genus Gladiolus contains about 260 species, of which 250 are native to sub-Saharan Africa, mostly South Africa. About 10 species are native to Eurasia. There are 160 species of Gladiolus endemic in southern Africa and 76 in tropical Africa. The species vary from very small to the spectacular giant flower spikes in commerce.

Thanks for visiting and your comments.
Feels good to be back.

Hi Pearl!

I'm so glad that you are back! And it's a great pleasure to look at your close up of this Gladiola. The lighting and the focus create a fine effect, the shapes are almost sensual... as many things in our nature. I'm delighted by the plain beauty of the flower.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Pearl,
you have taken it with great care and thought of this subtle petals of the white.
They are beautiful and well lighted.
The dark background really pushes it into a very well contrasted photo.

Regards,
Foozi

Bonjour Pearl,
Très belle et artistique publication avec cette belle macro finement détaillée et dans laquelle les hautes lumières sont bien maitrisées.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
Gérard

Pearl, What a lovely macro of this flower! Good exposure on the petals, and good DOF - everything is in good focus. I like the contrast of the light-colored flower against the black background.

Well done, and thanks for sharing.
Randy
