As promised, I come back with a different POV of this caterpillar. Please have a look at yesterday's post " Oleander Hawkmoth - Caterpillar " to get the complete story :-)

Here , I used the evening sun as a back light and used reflectors to fill in the shadow details.

WRT to composition, some ppl might find it a bit compact and tight and cramped for space and I respect and agree on that , but i don't necessarily feel that all macro pictures should have breathing space :-)

Hope you ppl like it

Pozdrawiam i g r a t u l u j e - Roma

The space around the subject is quite adequate, Goutham.
Having seen the close-up portrait of this Caterpillar, it is a pleasure to enjoy the full view now.
It is a perfect shot technically; nothing is out of place.
Regards,
Ram

A superb macro Goutham!
Not only because this particular Oleander hawk-moth caterpillar is so striking but that you have taken it with perfect all-round sharpness against a superb OOF natural green BG.
This POV, in contrast to the previous, makes it an ideal one for an illustration and the technical standard and composition give it a professional touch.
Sorry, I can't give you anything but praise for this one!
All the best,
Ivan

hello Goutham
technically irreproachable, as scene 'the subject steals the representation',excellent photo

A finely patterned and coloured caterpillar in a beautifully natural posture Goutham, which also looks like a child's balloon ready to burst! A superb job indeed my friend, I think the tight cropping made this a much more meaningful composition.
Cheers,
Mehmet

wow, you are back with such a fine capture, the sharpness is superb, pleasing colours, well done as usual,

Hi Goutham.
Pictured caterpillar looks like wonderful sculpture. Great reproduction of the texture and all charming details of the impressive species. Pose of the inset and shape of twig are amazing and create right and pleasant for eye composition. Combination of sharpness and blurriness of the shot is stunning too. Well done and kind regards.
Alexei.

Hello Goutham !
Wow, this is probably one of the most beautiful caterpilla picture I have ever seen ! I love everything - the unusual pose of the caterpillar, the wondeful colors, the composition, the POV, the blurred BG... It's just perfect. Very well done !
Valérie.

Wonderfull subject.

Ho Guthman,

Incredible ability to pose of it caterpillar! ... should recruit! Excellent work, wonderful composition, it seemed like the cadence of the insect and its tendency to move. Like the above, the colors are superb and sharpness is impressive.

Hi,excellent sharp, clean image, with beautiful colors. Congratulations. Ravasz :)

Hallo Goutham
Caterpillars and worms normally give me the jitters, but this beauty of yours has changed my opinion for the time being. The colour and detail of the patterns and markings is precise and very striking. The colours are soft on the eye and beautifully displayed, almost artistically arranged. I just like the way the caterpillar is grasping onto the plant and the detail seen of the paws holding on. The eye is magnetic and the little yellow tail cute. An all-round fantastic image with great sharpness, focus and composition, presented in a most favourable manner. Best regards and thanks for sharing.

Hello,
Excellent shot of this Sphingidae caterpillar.
Maybe it's a little bit to much cropped - I like more background around the main object ;-)

Chris

Nice shot. The colours and dof are wonderful. The backlighting works really well here.

Greetings Goutham

I should take some time staring at the beauty of this picture...!!!
A marvellous insect and an equally marvellous capture...!!!
The colors and features are so pleasantly projected...
