Close to Baba Harbhajan Temple, near Nathu La Indo China Business Trade route; one could see this beautiful lake situated at an altitude around 10,000 feet ASL atleast. It is surrounded by thick alpine forest and is famous for its trout and a farm to cultivate these fish also. You are authorized to go for angling only in the month of May.

This is another beautiful lake located twenty kilometres ahead of the Tsomgo(Changu) lake around 60 kms away from Gangtok, capital city of Sikkim. Quite big in size, it lies cradled between the mountains below the Jelepla pass and is also the source of the river Rangpo-chu which meets the Teesta at Rangpo. Like the Tsomgo(Changu) Lake, it also derives its water from the melting snow around especially from the stream that originates just below the Jelepla pass.
The lake is famous for its trout and a farm to cultivate these fish also exists nearby. The exquisite lake is named so because it is gets water from the melting snow of the mountains.

Menmecho Lake at Sikkim is the source of the river Rangpochu and a very famous specie of fish named Trout is found here. A fishing farm is situated nearby for the cultivation of the marine creature. This is why fishing is one of the very famous activity for the visitors of this lake.

The exotic locale of the Menmecho Lake in Sikkim is situated 60 kilometers away from Gangtok. The lakeside is approachable through the state capital by all the local transports that run there. Gangtok is accessible through air, rail and road. So reaching the lakeside would not be difficult.

The nearest airport to Menmecho Lake of Sikkim is Bagdogra in Siliguri from where you can take up the connecting flight or helicopter to Gangtok. The nearest railway station is Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri stations. From Siliguri, you can take a drive to Gangtok through jeep, car, bus or any other vehicle.

If you are intoxicated by the peaceful and pleasant nature of the lakeside then you can plan out for a small vacation there. Accommodation would not be a problem as you can rest in the tourist lodge and the dak bungalows that are situated near the Menmecho Lake.

Hallo Subhash
I like the different curves and shapes in this landscape, especially the one formed by the trees in the foreground. I also like the shine on the lake's water, and the three coloured layers of trees in the background, behind the lake, and to round of this pleasant view, just a tiny bit of sky in the peeping in the corner of the frame. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece of nature. Best regards.
Anna

Dear Subhash

A beautiful Landscape with the different layers of green in every shade.

The somber colours make it appealing and the rays of sun in the lake add interest to the image(was it a.m. or p.m.?)

Where you airborne or on foot, when you took the shot?

Enjoy the rest of your week,
Kind regards
Ingrid
