ranthambore tiger reserve
difficult to find them here as they keep well into the rocks and trees..especially if there are cubs.
a 4 year old female...literally crossed our path.. a rare and welcome sighting

Certainly nicely cropped and well exposed. Pity about the leaves on the nose.

Hi,

great shot. It's a pity about the leaves, but that does not change the fact that it's a lovely specimen. Great lighting, composition and colours. Very well done!

Reinier

The leaves doesn't bother me. Yes, it would be better whitout them but hey, this is not a zoo shot and I don't think anyone would go try to remove them from the face of a wild tiger just to get a better shot. (Myself, I wouldn't risk it)

Regards, Petru

I never met a single person till now (actually haven't met you in person) who ever saw a tiger there!!!!! Bravo!!!! That is a great shot!

Just points, not much time, sorry - Xplorator

Oh those eyes! The colours are intense and gripping! Hmmm I really cant stress how great those eyes are, lingering!
Good stuff! :)

I have to show this to my 5yo son, because he only knows shere khan from the Mogly´s movie! Vey nice image, amazing sharp details and great lights showing beautiful colours.

Hi Geoff
A beautiful portrait of one of Ranthambhore's wonderful tigers.
Ranthambhore can be a frustrating place, not least because the jeeps are driven around at a breakneck speeds and photo opportunities can be missed.
I have been there twice now and I am returning in Early 2007.
I have a great friend there called Aditya Singh.
If you decide to go back to Ranthambhore, you can contact him via the Ranthambhore Bagh hotel, which he owns.
Ask him to pair you up with either Salim or Ashlish.
These are the very best guides and they can track tigers better than anyone else there.
They also keep the drivers under control.
Really like this photo mate.

HI Geof,

words fail me as to how jealous i am! It must've been an amazing moment, and you captured it very well. Excellent job.
