The White-breasted Kingfisher is an Asian bird, found from Turkey to the Phillipines. It is the most common kingfisher in Goa and probably in India as a whole. It can often be seen on powerlines looking for prey that can be any animal from insects to fish and small mammals. It is quite noisy and territorial.
I digiscoped this individual quite early in the morning and after cropping and sharpening, I used NeatImage to reduces noise

godd and sharp and colourful
could have been 101 out of 100 with the eye highlighted..:)
saw the black and white ones in egypt..but missed these in india

Great photo of this very beautiful bird.
I have seen many of these kingfishers during my trips to Ranthambhore, Bharatpur and Corgett N.P.'s, but all my effoerts to get a decent photo of them have been in vain.
