Hi all,

The saga continues … here comes “Mrs. Red Munia”, like all female birds, the colors are not that extravagant , but she is cute bird and this is the only frame I have got of her. Thought I’ll share this with you guys on TN.

As mentioned earlier …The Red Munia or Red Avadavat is a sparrow-sized bird of the Munia or Silverbill family and is found in South Asia. They are popular cage birds due to the colourful plumage of the males in their breeding season. Their normal habitat is open grassland and paddy fields. They breed in the monsoon season. The species name amandava and the common name of avadavat is derived from the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat from where these birds were exported into the pet trade.
Naturalised populations exist in southern Spain and Hawaii.

Nice action shot. Good pose and composition, Sharp, with good details. Beautiful supporting BG.

Nice image Goutham, good detail and color, nicely composed. On the negative side, it would have been nicer if she had looked a bit more toward you, but that is not under your control. Well done though.

Ricardo

Chapeau my friend... if it lacked something in your post, it was the wife of that beautiful bird.
Another great capture, with the same quality that the previous one and in the only differs in the coloration of both sexes.
Great control of the light, perfect backdrop and composition.
Thank you for a truly instructive presentation.
My best greetings... Ricardo

Perfecto. Colores preciosos y gran PoV. Muy apto tu comentario e ilustrativo.

Hi Goutham the little bird looks great. Nice and sharp, and I love his pose holding onto the feather like this. It looks like he is waving a flag:))
Well done,
Janice

Hi Goutham,
This is a perfect bird shot! Details are really good with excellent POV and DOF. I like the pose of the bird and again, you had a great timing to catch her with a feather in her beak :) I think that this lady is very nice. Nice BG too! Thanks,
Claudine

Hi Goutham!
Do you mean to say males are better looking than females ;-)?
This is yet another lovely picture of the Munia family. The BG is absulotely fantastic here -- uncluttered and supportive of the subject.
The picture is just perfect, so no need to say the hackneyed things.
TFS and bye for now.
Ram
