This bird (Halcyon smrynensis) took his name from Smyrna (İzmir), İzmir is the most north and west point for this species. I could only see this species one time and couldn't take a photo. A wonderful capture, thanks for sharing.

I have to admit that I never realised that kingfishers have such vibrant colours (shouldn't admit that really, especially not on this site...) Well, this image of yours is absolutely stunning, perfectly executed and goes swiftly to my favourites.
