[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my very first attempt at collage. I 'v e always admired the collages by others in Trek Nature, but had no idea as to make one myself until i came across Karan Hester. Thanks to you karan i've suceeded in making one.

The bird in the picture is Whitebreasted Kingfisher whose photo was my very first posting in Trek nature.These pictures were shot the very next day when i saw it sitting on a branch overhanging my cow shed. I decided to lure it with tiny crabs which we get in plenty during rainy season in the paddyfeilds. I put one in a tub in front of the cowshed and waited for him to pick it. It seems it couldn't resist the temptation. It swooped down on the prey , but the crab managed to escape from its beak. i tried my best to capture what followed next and the result is what you see in my collage. Hope you will enjoy it.

Lovely pictures Smitha :) Your DOF is well chosen and spot on. Personally, I would have preferred a single post so I can see more details .. my favourite is the last pic, bottom+right, wish I could see that one bigger. Like the saturation - good job :)

Feeding a kingfisher seems such an utopian scheme to me (for the kingfishers in Turkey) as they are so fast and so shy. I liked this moment a lot. TFS

Great shot. I have only really seen Kingfishers take fish, so I have learnt something from your shot as well. I really like the bottom two shots. They stand out to me as the better ones.
