[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Oriental Magpie Robin (Copsychus saularis).
This pics was taken,at Bharathpur,it was sitting pretty for long time only changing the position.

//from Salim Ali Book"the book of Indian birds"
The Magpie Robin is a trim black-and-white bird with cocked tail as in Indian Robin. Black portions of male replaced by brown and slaty grey in female. The female Oriental Magpie Robin differs from the male by lacking the black head and breast. Instead, it is mostly grey.

It is found singly or in pairs, about human habitations. It is one of the more familiar birds about towns and villages. Its song is punctuated by upward jerks of white-fringed tail. Its food consists of insects, chiefly picked off the ground, and flower nectar as of Salmalia and Erythrina. Its nesting season is from April to July.

Hi Radz!
This robin had to sit in one place for long time - see spider's web between its tail and wing ;-) ? Great bird and great picture. I like it!

Sorry, points tomorrow.

Nice shot, good pose but the light could've been better on it's face.
Well done.
TFS.

Very nice pose, composition and sharpness, pity about the white background. I think I would have tried some cloning to get rid of that before posting. If you have time give it a go then submit a repost, cause the bird itself is very nice.

I love your birds...
but a little bit to need more saturation...
and the noises need "neat image"...
thanks for sharing rathika

Hi Rithika,
Good effort, you can photogrph any bird if you study their behaviour.Oriental Magpie Robin will nest in a hole either in tree, earthen cutting etc.
I have photgraphed this bird almost every year near Banglore by putting up a nest box in its teritory during late February to April. try this you may be able to get some good pictures
Good luck
Daya
