[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Amban Beach, Manokwari

This is another beach that I visited in Manokwari, named Amban Beach. This beach is directly facing to the Pacific Ocean; while the previous beach- Pasir Putih- is well protected by many small islands in front of it. Consequently, ocean wave at Amban Beach is stronger than in Pasir Putih Beach. Amban Beach is a nicer place for surfing. [If you plan to surf in this beach, make sure that you bring your own surf board since there is no rental store for such equipment here]

So, how come the water surface in this picture was so calm? Well, body of water at FG is part of small river which goes to this beach, protected from ocean wave by sand dune behind it. Mouth of this river is further back, behind me.
So, where is the ocean? Well, it is behind the sand dune. Misty horizon is water splashed after ocean waves hitting the shore. Please note that this shot was taken with a long exposure [6 seconds]

This shot was taken after sunset, a bit dark already, and you may see that there is no source of light [no electricity] except natural light reflected by the sky.

I dedicate this picture for my friend –Pak Istalaksana- for his willingness to stay a bit longer in the dark with me after the sunset, giving me opportunity to execute some shots during this blue hour. [Bagaimana dengan hasil fotonya mas Yoyok?]

What a moody picture, Ben! The atmosphere you managed to contain in this frame is amazing!
I guess all came from the excellent POV and the impecable management of the exposure. That pretty much gave yuo all these superb colors and this game of light and darker parts.
