[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a small spider, dimension of the head is approximately 2x4 mm. I am trying to exploit my macro lens to its limit.

Yes, DoF is shallow. Problem is if I increase DoF, using smaller apperture, then to compensate with low light I need use a longer exposure, slower shutter speed; then it is not easy to get a sharp image...

Hope you like the result...

Hi Ben,
a very good macro-shot with good details where it counts, in the face and eyes. The DOF is a bit shallow as you mention but under this condiotion is good.
Nice colours and good exposure.
Well done.

I'm longing to the spring for test my A100 for macros. ;-)

Ricardo

Really an impressive macro Ben, fundamentally due to the details of so small spider, in spite of the scarce depth that you explain in your notes and that only it has offered focus on their face.
For the color of the eyes it would seem that you had shot the flash, or is the reflection of something more?
Regards and my best wishes... Ricardo

Hi Benyamin,
Very good macro; good compo, sharpness and colors.
Well done

Hello Benyamin.
Nice sharp details of the face/head..
As Ricardo has mentioned, the eyes of this spider look strange or lifeless somehow.
Nice job.

Hi Benyamin.
Very nice close-up.Impressive look face to face :-)
Nice POV and fine sharp details.Very nice light.
Well done.Tfs
Greetings Milos

The purpose of sharpness would be of paramount importance in the macro of such a small insect, Ben, and you have done a great job here.
The details are pretty sharp in this brave macro and that is what matters in this case, IMHO.
Thanks.

Hi Ben,
Very nice close-up.Impressive look face to face, but when I were, I'll escape from there :) Because I think I have arachnofobia. I never touch to spiders and I never want to stay at same place with them. Because of this I don't want to take a spider photo. Don't believe in me, that's just a joke. :) But I don't like these bugs. Don't have any fobia. :)

Greetings.

Wow Benyamin! Look at those details! It is awesome!! We can count the eyes and see its mouth perfectly! Impressing picture! Don't you think that using f/8.0 instead of f/6.3 you will have more details in focus?

TFS,

Michel

Hello Ben,
This is a very impressive macro. I can guess that your macro lens was at the limit :) I like those details and POV and I think that he has great eyes. Thanks,

Hi Ben.
You are quite right. In this case the flash is needed. I usually take a few shot with and without flash. Nevertheless the shot is great. Perfect sharpness and details. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Ben,
This is an excellent shot showing well the eyes of this spider and chelicerae (the true killing erquipment). It's great illustration of the fact that spiders can see stereoscopically and thanks to that they locate their prey very accurately.
Great job!
Best greetings and Happy New Year!

Hi Ben. Another very good clear macro. It shows an incredible amount of detail normally unseen to our eyes. TFS. Murray.

Hi Benyamin.
What a nice potrait, it is a extreme close up, more considering the size of your subject. The details a very clear and those "canines" amazing.
About achieving DOF with extreme macros, of courser smaller aperture needs longer exposure, but also light diffraction appears and details are not as crisp as this photo. When I put my 60mm to the limit, everything taken over f:10 is not crisp.
Good work, well done.

Hi Ben,
Sharp and crystal clear image. Hope you satisfy with your macro lens. I like the fangs that you clearly captured. A splendid picture.
JC

Hello Ben,

Excellent... I like the details of this macro even if I actually don't like spyders... (even a small one). We see it's eyes, it is amazing...
