Allright, this Batman version is disturbing, but if it shocked you, you owe me one point, if it also made you smile you owe me one more point. Deal? I deserve it because my a** was up in tree to snap this shot for you!
This is a kalong or Pteropus vampyrus , people call them many ways from flying-dogs/foxes to giant/mega-bats or simply as vampires. They are very large, half meter head to toes with wingspans of over one and a half meter length in many cases!!! Imagine a colony of nesting and flying around your house! SEE THE WORKSHOP FOR THE FULL VERSION !
... This image, of course, is upside down!

You hustle your a** up a tree and you end up capturing this great image, Radu. Well worth the effort, my friend. Must compliment you for the hard work you have done in Indonesia.
This is a great image of this "Vampire" you have posted the right way for our viewing. The details, particularly of the face, are perfect.
Well done and TFS.

Hi Radu,
Tell me this thing doesn’t exist, please! But, this is a monster, it is not real :) Wow! What a beast! You say that it half a meter length? It is just an unbelievable nightmare! I am not afraid of the usual species that usually people are but I would not like to encounter this fellow, no, no, no! I think you were very brave to climb this tree to shot it :) For me, you deserve more than 2 points :) Congratulations for this ugly capture!

Salut Radu

Un pic cam indecent baietelul asta... :))))))))
Oricum poza e super tare si faptul ca te-ai cocotzat acolo merita toata lauda.

BRAVO
Horia

wow fantastica imagine

da, croitori le spunem la Cerambicide in general pentru ca isi fac galerii in trunchiurile copacilor, R.alpina este croitorul fagului.

o zi faina,
Lucian.

Sal Radu!
You definitely deserve both points from me for the two goals achieved. It's hard to believe these creatures can be that huge. Really scary. Congratulations on this interesting shot.

Hahaha... LOL...
Okay, I did not smile, I laughed out loud.
So I guess I owe you at least 3 points.
You crazy kid!
What shocked me was not the frontal exposure, but the upside down (or downside up) position of the bat. : P
Great shot with good details and fantastic POV.
TFS. : )

Hi Radu,

Great shot and yes it did give me a shock and then it made me smile so two points to you, now I have a vision of opening my curtains and seeing this vision before me but as I live in the UK don't think that will happen, be careful up those trees.

TFS Hilary :o)
