At the temple of Ulu Watu are a growing band of Long-Tailed Macacques. They were very tame and clearly spoiled by the misguided indulgence of tourists. However, to photograph them was a risky business as they were highly agressive and love nothing better than to steal your belongings - especially cameras.
In places they surrounded on all sides - on the ground, in the trees and bushes and on the temple walls. I was lucky that my taxi driver came along and helped keep them at bay with the use of his large umbrella!
This photo makes them look so gentle!
DOF was a bit limited though... I would have like to get the whole face in sharp focus rahter than just the eyes... |
