Hi Ben

What a cute pose from this lovely small-clawed otter giving you a perfect view of its claw. The notes are a good read and very informative as well.

The composition is great with this guy lying on the rock. The colours are well defined and natural, the sharp details show all its facial features and those impressive whiskers very well, the BG is well removed and the colouration is complimentary to the subject, and you did a great job with the exposure.

This is a nice shot, a great moment you've captured. A very playful innocent expression, great pose and the POV is perfect. Great DOF and nicely framed. I think positioning the Otter either side of the frame would work because of the body position and the angle of the head. I like it this way. I think sharpening might bring out some more detail, something like USM 200% pixel radius 0.2 or 0.3. A nice shot and good note, a great post from you.
