Coots in rainy day
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This photograph is taking of the coot that is swimming in surroundings of the shore when I go to the Inba marsh. There was a parent and child of the coot of some pairs there. The child started following parents, and the spectacle for parents to give the water plant as the child worrying was pretty. Changing blacking it is interesting when growing up though child's hair is red yellow.
(p.s.)
It is likely to live in lakes and marshes, the river, the rice field, and the marsh, etc. , and to live in the pond in the park etc. They swim better than the common moorhen by using valvate foot well, and walking in the waterside are fewer. The food habit eats various one like the insect, crustacean, and plant seeds etc. by omnivorous. The lengths are about 40cm, and the feather of the back wears luster in blue though adult bird's body is covered with a black feather. There is "Clypeus" that the beak extends in amount, and the clypeus and the beak are thin pink colors. It is called "Common coot" or "Eurasian coot" in a British name though "Fulica atra" is in the scientific name.
