Hi all,
This little unique flower here is called ‘Semalu’ in Malaysia. Scientifically it is known as Mimonasu pudica L. Semalu means ‘shy plant’ as the leaves of this plant is very sensitive. When touched or shaken, the leaves will fold and shrink over to its stem immediately. This is actually a herbs with many medicinal value. Traditionally, it is used to cleans and strengthen the V… of a women whom had given birth. Besides, it’s also used to treat ‘foot crack’, small wound, insect bites, throat ache, cough, stomach ache, fever and malaria as well.
The flower bud is about 1.5-2 cm in diameter and the plant doesn’t grow tall. It crawls just like many other plants from Leguminnosae family. This is a very common herbs and found almost everywhere in Malaysia. |
