This is the most common dragonfly around my house. I took this picture under the hot sun with the aid of fill flash and tripod. I like the clarity of this one compared to my previous hand-held and no-flash capture. Advises from friends here are very useful in my experimental discovery of nature pictures.

Thanks all.
Regards,
Jusni

Hi Jusni,

Look now you are focus on MACRO now.
Good work there - sharp, enough DOF and very pleasing back ground. That bark wire color really shown the 'oxide' color.
I think the ID is :Ictinogomphus decoratus

cheers,
/Tabib/.

Hi Jusni,

A nice capture of this dragonfly on this barbwire, although the focus is more on the tail then on the head (it would have been better if this was just the other way around),the dof is just enough to get a nice composition, tfs

This dragonfly, to the best of my knowledge, goes by the name of Slender Skimmer, Jusni. You would find details on the species in Wikipedia.
The use of tripod has given you a sharp and clear image of this insect.
The rusted barbed wire makes a good perch and the blurred BG suits the subject.
TFS and regards,
Ram

Hi Jusni,
As I see from your gallery that your main interests are birds and insect, similar to me. You are good in both categıry. This photo also very good with nice colors, composition and BG. The transparancy of the wings looks very nice. POV and DEF also good.
Regards my friend,
Mustafa

Oooh, this is perfect Jusni, so sharp from the eyes to the abdomen tip, no doubt getting a boost from the tripod, and the flash-assisted lighting is faultless. And that extremely OOF BG so striking, compared with that rusty barbed wire, which brings our feet back on the terra firma! A masterpiece my friend!

Hi Jusni.
even if the surrounding not is the best it's a nice picture
of a beautiful dragonfly.
Fine sharpness on the head and body, the wings in shallow DOF even at F13. Nice colours and the DF is well seen against the BG.
Well done.

Hi Jusni,
Thanks for the feedback, this is a beauty lovely detail, I really like the composition, something so delicate landing on something so rough, superb colours, good D.O.F, all the best Cheers Rick :)

Salam Jusni, my dear friend
where are you? Inshallah everything very well and only you would be busy.
This beautiful species common one between us. In last summer, it gave many beautiful shots. Your post very nice, with plain fantastic colored BG and nice focus. It looks very beautiful on old wire. POV, lighting and composition also very nice.
Looking forward to hearing again,
Ahmet
